As the official Supermarket Sponsor of Team GB, Aldi will be providing the wine and Champagne at this year’s Team GB Ball, a black-tie celebration of Britain’s success at the Rio Olympics.

At the ball, held on Wednesday 30 November, Aldi launched a limited edition version of its multi-award winning Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut, emblazoned with the Union Jack, to toast the athletes’ achievements. The commemorative fizz isn’t exclusive to the Rio Olympians; Aldi shoppers will also be able to celebrate in style as the bottle goes on sale in store as a Specialbuy on Thursday 1st December.

At the star studded celebration of Team GB’s success, Olympic heroes will enjoy Aldi’s Lot 18 Baden Pinot Blanc and The Exquisite Collection Hawke’s Bay Merlot along with Aldi’s specially created ‘Team GB’ champagne, as awards such as the ‘Olympian’s Olympian’ are handed out.

Tony Baines, Joint Managing Director for Corporate Buying at Aldi, comments: “It has been an incredible year for the sporting world and at Aldi we were very proud sponsors of Team GB at Rio 2016.

“It’s an honour to serve our award-winning champagne and wines to the ball’s attendees as they raise a glass to our Olympian’s triumph at this summer’s Games.”

Held at Battersea Evolution, London, the prestigious black tie event will be hosted by Tom Daley and Claudia Winkleman. Attended by Rio 2016 athletes, former medallists as well as high profile guests, the evening will be a truly memorable celebration.

Following the support at this year’s Olympic Games, Aldi has extended its commitment to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The celebratory Team GB bottle will be available in stores nationwide from Thursday 1st December priced at £9.99, available while stocks last.
