Australian supermarket Coles will exchange a Valid Dick smith card for its customers prior to the electronic store going into administration. Dick smith went into administration on Tuesday making these gift cards worthless. Many customers were furious about the outstanding gift cards, some worth more than $1000 and not honored by the shop.

As soon as the company went to administration Coles removed Dick Smith gift cards from its shelves and offers a redeem for valid gift cards. The supermarket will exchange unredeemed gift cards which has been purchased from Coles supermarket between July 2015 and when the organization went into receivership for Coles gift cards of equivalent worth.  To avail the offer proof of purchase showing the gift card from Coles is a must.

Coles has already passed on the sales income of gift card to Dick and smith Electronics. During the holiday season Coles and Woolworths had initiated a promotion that would give an additional 10 % on present cards acquired from the stores.

Coles has additionally kept in touch with the managers of Dick Smith Electronics encouraging them to respect the outstanding gift cards, some of which were acquired as Christmas presents as a major aspect of a 10 percent reward advancement Dick Smith Electronics started on gift card deals in December, a representative said.  Some customers said that the move from Dick smith Electronics really spoil their money.

Coles clients can exchange their gift card by calling their customer care number 1800 061 562 to get a redemption form, it is also available in coles.com.au website. Clients can post the filled form with un redeemed gift card and bill copy to Coles Store Support Center by February 29.
