Aldi announced on Monday to open 100 more branches in the Kingdom over the next two years. That creates 5000 new jobs, the company said. Aldi currently has around 840 stores in the UK. By 2025 it should be around 1200.

In the capital London alone, the discounter wants to increase the number of stores within two years from the current 40 to more than 100, as Aldi further announced. “Consumers in London keep telling us that they would go to Aldi if they had one nearby,” said Alloys head for the UK and Ireland, Giles Hurley. “So there is a clear chance for us to grow.”
