On the last Friday, the employees of the Leader Price brand located in Fleurance, in the Gers, saw their store permanently close its doors. According to information by La Dépêche, the eleven employees of the supermarket would have been put before the real image by consulting their schedule, indicating the official closure of the store and, consequently, their dismissal.

This information was belied by a spokesperson for the Leader Price group, chaired by Paul Caburet, who said the information was disseminated by the unions. “This information is absolutely not true. The people who disseminated this false information belong to the local union, and do not represent in any case the staff of the store “.

Leader Price spokesperson said that since November, discussions had been ongoing with all employees, during which the subject of the closure of the store had been put on the table: “The precise date of closing of the store on December 28 was communicated at the latest during the meeting of December 4 with all employees”.

As for the future of the employees, the chain, belonging to the Casino group, specifies that three of them have been reclassified in other Leader Price stores and in another banner of the group, the Géant supermarket. He adds that “other staff members are still in discussion”.
