Carrefour strengthens its relation with Greenyard

Greenyard, the Belgian fruit and vegetable supplier that is in urgent need of financial resources, will supply Carrefour Belgium throughout the year. Both parties have reached an agreement in principle on this matter.

Fresh fruits and vegetables at Carrefour Belgium now come all year round from Greenyard Fresh. The two companies have reached an agreement in principle to strengthen their commercial relationship. The companies were already working together, but today, “the volume of fruits and vegetables provided by Greenyard Fresh Belgium at Carrefour Belgium will increase considerably”, it seems.

As part of Carrefour’s ‘Act For Food’ program, the supermarket chain wants to focus on fresh local produce, and this initiative is part of that logic. In addition, both parties believe that this cooperation will enable them to reduce their waste in the long term, improve quality for the consumer and offer “always fast and innovative solutions”.

Greenyard will become a strategic and above all vertically integrated partner of Carrefour Belgium. According to a press release from the vegetable processing company, this means “a wider range of possibilities in the field of supply, supplychain management and quality assurance”. This integration would also optimize logistics to platforms and stores.
