The supermarket chain Carrefour has partnered with the Belgian company Medi-Market to market its pharmacy and parapharmacy products in several points of sale -corners- of the pharmaceutical company in its Belgian stores.
Thus, according to the International Supermarket News portal, the supermarket chain follows in the footsteps of another Belgian distributor, Colruyt, which has already announced its intention to establish pharmacies in its stores.
“The objective of this agreement is to open Medi-Market in Carrefour hypermarkets and offer a wide range of products for health and well-being,” the distributor announced in a statement rejoiced by ISN. Carrefour Belgium is convinced of the complementary nature of the two brands. The Medi-Market sales area will be separated from the Carrefour Hypermarket thanks to the concept of ‘store-in-shop’.
In this way, the idea is that the new concept of parapharmacy extends to different hypermarkets of Carrefour where the demand for this type of products is large and where there is more than enough space to open these points of sale.
