Today, Blue Monday, is known as the most depressing day of the year. But the Supermarket chain Tesco revives the day with an announcement that they are offering free foods at some of its stores across UK. Blue Monday is considered as the most depressing day than any other day over the rest of the year, which falls on the third Monday of January . But Tesco has said that it needs to temper individuals’ discouragement.
The supermarket Chain is offering some free food at many of its branches across UK between 3.30Pm and 5.30 Pm today. Tesco’s spokesperson confirmed that it is likely to be in big stores. They will give out fruits like kiwi, blueberries, apple etc.
Josh Hardie, Tesco’s corporate responsibility director pointed out that in blue Monday people are likely to be feeling disappointing, we think that some free food like fruits will help customers to feel a little bit happier while shopping.
It is considered that the third Monday of January is the most depressing day of the year with people’s moods influenced with their post Christmas finance and bad weather. Researchers find that at this day people’s debt levels are high and the climate is at its worst at this time of year. A survey conducted by co op found that at this day people feel that they are lonely.
