Baobab Foods Introduces Baobab Fruit Chews to European Food Manufacturers & Private Label Brands

Leading Supplier and Manufacturer of Baobab Superfoods Expands Innovative Superfruit Chew to

Food Innovators Internationally

Bellevue, Washington, USA (May 3, 2016) Baobab Foods, creator of nutrient-dense superfood products, today announced that its innovative range of BaoBites™ Superfruit Chews are officially available to food manufacturers and private label brands in Europe.

At the heart of BaoBites is the African baobab fruit, well known as a superfood with an impressive nutritional profile. With more antioxidants than dried goji berries or blueberries, and packed with prebiotic dietary fiber, potassium and vitamin C, BaoBites can be easily integrated into a wide variety of food products including cereals and granolas, fruit & nut mixes, nutrition bars, baking products, ice creams, used as stand-alone fruit snacks, or as a base for panned chocolate or yoghurt coatings.

“There is no other baobab product currently like this in Europe and the opportunities for food formulators are endless,” said Henry Johnson, European Sales Manager of Baobab Foods. “Although the concept of incorporating baobab into a functional fruit chew is new, the feedback from food brands in the United States has been tremendous and so we are optimistic about our prospects in Europe.”

Made with simple ingredients, including wild-harvested organic baobab fruit powder, real fruit concentrates and pectin, BaoBites are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, free of cholesterol and allergens, and contain only natural fruit sugars. In addition to the three initial flavours of Blood Orange, Peach Mango and Pomegranate, BaoBites are now also available in eight new flavour offerings including Meyer Lemon, Tart Cherry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Strawberry, Sweet Potato, Coconut Peach Mango and Carrot Mango.

“Europe is a hub for clean food innovation, and we are really excited about working with European companies to explore the commercial opportunities our BaoBites can bring to their research and development pipelines,” said Stephan Broburg, General Manager of Baobab Foods. “BaoBites are a truly unique way to add natural antioxidants and a flavour punch to a variety of food products. And with our ability to subtly adjust the water activity, flavours and other nutritional ingredients, we can completely customise each order of BaoBites to suit multiple food applications and sectors, including frozen and bakery.”
