Associated Retail Operations Presents $31,376 to the March of Dimes Local Company Helps Raise Significant Donation

Salt Lake City, UT – Associated Food Stores will hold a check
presentation ceremony for a donation of $31,376 to the March of Dimes on November 4 during the
4 p.m. newscast at KUTV, 299 South Main Street, Suite 150.
Leaders from Associated Food Stores and various locally owned stores including Macey’s,
Dan’s, Lin’s, Dick’s Market and Fresh Market will make the check presentation to representatives of
the MDA.
The March of Dimes campaign occurred over a three-week period beginning on the first of
October. Cashiers from Macey’s, Dan’s and Dick’s Market sold paper pumpkins to guests who would
write their name, or the name of a loved one, on the cutout. The pumpkins were then displayed
throughout the stores during the promotion ending on October 23.
Although all of the stores participated in the fundraiser, Macey’s made the largest
contribution. The Macey’s stores from Sandy, Provo and Lehi raised $6,201, $4,045 and $2,507
respectively. The top fundraiser for the Dan’s banner was the Olympus store and the store in
Bountiful was the top fundraiser for the Dick’s Market banner.
“We are so excited to be a part of this fundraising effort,” said Bret Gallacher, Associated
Retail Operations. “It is important for each one of us to do what we can to give back to our
communities. We want to thank all of those who not only helped to collect the money for this large
donation, but more importantly the people who contributed their hard-earned money for such a
special cause.”
