Unleaded and Diesel prices come down by up to 2 pence per litre
First time since January 2011 that diesel prices have fallen below the 130p mark
From tomorrow morning (Tuesday 29th July) Asda, will cut the cost of fuel across all 234 UK forecourts by up to 2 pence per litre on Diesel and Unleaded, a welcomed relief for drivers and families heading off for the summer holidays.
A new national price cap means no driver across the UK will pay more than 126.7ppl on unleaded and 129.7 ppl on diesel at any Asda forecourt in a new round of market leading price cuts.
The announced price cuts by up to 2 pence per litre means customers can now benefit from a three year low on Diesel prices, with prices falling below the 130p mark since January 2011.
A strengthening pound against the dollar has been the key driver behind the cuts, with Asda reacting quickly by immediately passing the savings on to their customers.
Asda aims to offer the lowest priced fuel week in week out without any confusing promotions, leaving the tricks, gimmicks and lock-ins to others.
Andy Peake, Asda’s Petrol Director said: “We’re giving our customers and holiday makers the opportunity to fill up their cars with some of the cheapest fuel prices in the market for years, putting much needed cash back in their pockets as the summer holidays begin. A full tank of fuel now costs £5 less than last summer and our national price cap benefits everyone across the country, meaning that no-one filling up at Asda will be forced to pay a premium for their fuel because of where they live.”
