Amazon wins fastest growing e-commerce brand award



US retailer Amazon, along with Douglas and Rewe wins the fastest growing e-commerce brand award from Best Brands. Amazon was placed first in the list with Rewe bagging the second price and Douglas the third. Since 2004, the “Best Brands” Award is presented to the top brands in each segment.

This year there was this special category “Best fastest growing e-commerce brand” and the winners without any surprise were: Amazon, Rewe and Douglas. Ralf Kleber, Country Manager of Amazon, says: “The fact that our customers choose us as the best e-commerce brand 2016 Best Brands, is for us the most wonderful recognition – and confirms our team is to continue the wishes of customers in all innovations, we forge ahead, to place at the center. ”

Best brands awards were determined in four categories and was awarded at a gala event in Germany where more than 600 invited guests from business, trade and the media attended. The other major awards in different categories include “Best European corporate brand” (Winner: Porsche), “Best product brand” (winner: Nivea) and “Best growth brand” (winner: WMF)

Douglas, the perfumery chain, which has its origin in retail stores, the digital transformation seems better than so many other companies participated. Thanks to an extensive e-commerce strategy, the company can be very pleased with the recognition.

Supermarket Rewe was placed in the second place.  Rewe supplies in 57 cities ordered online food home. But Rewe is not resting on its success and develop its multichannel concept continually. At the end of January 2016 it was announced that Rewe now also plans to offer Click & Collect.
