Amazon Launches Express Grocery Delivery In Indian city Bengaluru

Amazon has started a local delivery service in major Indian city Bengaluru. The Amazon Now app is live on Google Play Store. Amazon is also starting a express delivery option, where the products will be delivered within two hours, the company  said in a statement.

On 28 January Amazon released a teaser on YouTube for Amazon Now app. The organization has tied up with a few stores such as Kirana Now, Big Bazaar, Reliance Fresh, Godrej’s Nature Basket, Good Food, Food World and BPCL In & Out. Amazon has categories like cooking essentials, snaks, drinks, bath and shower essentials, baby care items and kitchen care.

Samir Kumar, VP of Catagory administration Amazon, said that they had learned a lot from their pilot project Kirana Now which was started in Bengaluru, which gave the client an alternative to request basic needs from the neighborhood stores, conveyed in 2-4 hours. “We are eager to extend that service and branded stores to avail service of Amazon Now to the shoppers – he said.
