The “Double 11” (11.11), or November 11, is a holiday in China and now the opportunity for an e-shopping day for many online platforms that offer a multitude of promotions and sales flash .
This date corresponds to the single day that emerged in the early 90’s and has been taken since 2009 by the leader of Alibaba to make it a special day of online shopping, during which the “singles” (but not only) can have fun.
Last year, sales around 11.11 reached high records, taking advantage of the huge Chinese but also international market, surpassing those of Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the United States. It has become a major global e-commerce event.
The AliExpress platform has decided this year to take a bigger step by organizing a 11.11 Global Shopping Festival which will be open for the first time to local distributors of countries such as Russia, Spain, Italy and Turkey.
This will be an opportunity to find even more products and involve local SMEs, with this 11th edition (symbolic, so) a focus on “new consumption” and “new business”.
