After the success of Beyond-Meat: New veggie burger at Lidl

The meatless hype continues: Following the success of the two “Beyond Meat Burger” campaigns, Lidl has developed the “Next Level Burger” under its own brand “Next Level Meat”. The vegan burger patties consist of vegetables, pea, soy and wheat protein as well as beetroot juice. The product is available in a 227 gram two-pack and is available for 2.99 euros. You can find the “Next Level Burger” from Thursday, the 1st of August in all Lidl stores.

The meatless patties of Beyond Meat are loved by vegetarians and vegans. According to media reports, the turnover of the group has recently increased by 287 percent compared to the previous year. The competitor Aldi also wants to serve the veggie burger market in the future.

Lidl and Aldi have been rivals for years. Mostly they carry out their fight over the price policy. But with the veggie burger Lidl is a big step ahead of the counterpart, as the Süddeutsche reports. Aldi has announced on 05 August to bring their own veggie burger on the market. Lidl wipes out the competition and sells its product four days before.
