The largest Polish postal operator has partnered with a Danish supplier of equipment and software to receive courier parcels, which since May 2018 has been developing an agnostic network located in nearly 150 Biedronka stores belonging to the Jeronimo Martins group. As part of the cooperation, the clients of the domestic giant will have at their disposal automatic machines located in Biedronki and post offices in key urban centres in Poland.
“We are pleased that together with Poczta Polska we can expand the network of our machines, giving market participants the opportunity to choose the best solution for them” – said Michał Czechowski, Managing Director of SwipBox Polska.
The potential of servicing the market of courier, express and parcel deliveries (KEP) of a state-owned enterprise is estimated at nearly PLN 1 billion annually. In the perspective of 2023, Poczta Polska plans to increase its revenues twice in this segment. The company estimates that over the next few years, total revenues from the KEP area, logistics services and e-commerce services will exceed the level of revenue from traditional correspondence.
In December 2018, Poczta Polska’s customers used the Pick-Up service twice as often as a year ago. Every fifth packet was picked up this way. Last year there was almost 60 percent of them. more than in 2017, and in December even twice as many as a year earlier in the same period. Poczta Polska expects that this year the dynamics of shipments received at points will be at least 150 percent.
