A giant step has been made by the first supermarket retailer Walmart in the field of including artificial intelligence in cooking.

Miso’s Flippy, the first cooking robot is being tested in the kitchen assisting Bentonville, Arkansas, headquarters to decide later if it is helpful and applicable for other Walmart stores.

The Robot has proven earlier its efficiency last September when Flippy helped Dodgers Stadium team members consistently cook and serve more than 10,000 pounds of fresh chicken tenders and crispy tater tots to Dodgers fans, producing up to 80 baskets of food per hour. according to Geek.com

Miso Robotics CEO David Zito in an interview with Yahoo Finance said:  “Walmart saw what we were doing and said, ‘Could you bring Flippy from Dodgers Stadium to our Culinary Institute?’”

“What we want to do is assist the hardworking linemen cooks and chefs in America with tools to give them the ability to faithfully reproduce while taking the burden off some of these more repetitive and mundane tasks,” Zito added
