Tesco opens doors at flagship development at Highams Park
Tesco has opened a new 39,000 sq ft store at Highams Park, as its mixed use development moves one step closer to completion.
Tesco has already completed 14 terraced houses, as well as 80 flats to the rear of the store. All of these units have been handed over to Islington and Shoreditch Housing Association (ISHA) and are currently being occupied by their customers.
The scheme is being delivered by Tesco’s mixed-use development arm and will also include a further 159 homes, a new area of public space for visitors to the store, ten non-food retail units and 8 ‘Live Work’ units, providing premises for start-up businesses.
Andrew Boyle, Development Project Manager at Tesco, said:
“The opening of the store marks an important step towards the completion of our regeneration scheme at Highams Park. The store has had fantastic feedback from our customers and our team will continue to work with the local community to have a positive impact on other businesses in the area.”
