M&S’s Digital Exec. Moves to Morrisons
By Laura Elliott.
UK retailer Morrisons has poached upmarket chain Marks and Spencer’s digital lead, Sienne Veit, to run its new multi-channel expansion plan for general merchandise and the retailer’s Kiddicare business.
Veit is now set to take-up a newly created position at Morrisons, which has been given the title of the ‘mobile lead role’. She will reportedly look after the retailer’s mobile website, applications and payments, as well as being focused on user experience and web-design for all of the Kiddicare and Morrisons.com websites.
As reported by Marketing Week, a spokesperson for Morrisons said that “Her challenge is to deliver a great seamless customer experience regardless of where and how they wish to shop.”
It has recently become clear that Morrisons is lagging behind its three main rivals in regards to mobile development. It is the only supermarket that does not yet offer the option of online grocery shopping, although the chain did launch a mobile app and mobile-optimised website in 2010.
