Lombok to be sold in pre-pack

Furniture retailer Lombok is to be sold in pre-pack to its existing management and investors.

Neil Bennett and Michael Healy from Leonard Curtis were appointed joint administrators this week to the failing Lombok.

The holding company Angora, which traded as Lombok has already shut nine of its stores including Guildford, Hampstead, Brighton and Leamington Spa.

This is the second pre-pack of the business in as many years. In 2009, KPMG administrators sold the company to its management team, securing 124 jobs.

“In order to secure the future of Lombok in very challenging trading conditions, Lombok is in the final stages of an essential restructuring which is refocusing the company on its successful online offering and key flagship stores,”commented a spokeswoman for Lombok.
