Sainsbury’s recalls cheese products following food poisoning threats

Sainsbury’s recalls batches of its cheeses following fears of containing listeria bacteria which could poise food poisoning. The Supermarket giant announced that it has recalled three different Camembert products as it may contain listeria bacteria. A statement on the Sainsbury’s website says: “Routine testing has detected a low level of listeria in a small number of packs of the above products. “As a precautionary measure, we are asking all customers who have bought these products not to consume or use them, and to return them to their nearest Sainsbury’s store, where they will receive a full refund.”No other products are affected by this issue, and we apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.”

Once consumed these cheeses vomiting and fever might occur, the company warned. But in more serious cases it can cause potentially lethal complications, such as sepsis and meningitis. The products affected are Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference French Camembert Cheese 250g, Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Baking Camembert Cheese 250g and Sainsbury’s Camembert Pays 250g. Products affected has a use before date of March 6, 2016.
