GLOBALG.A.P. is pleased to announce the election of Guido Siebenmorgen to the GLOBALG.A.P. Board for the 2013-2017 term.

On being elected to GLOBALG.A.P.’s Board, Siebenmorgen said that he wishes to promote the continued development of ecological and social sustainability in the supply chain based on established and known standards. “I plan to be an advocate for the entire cause by including the concerns of all parties involved and by avoiding any individual, isolated approaches. I am confident that my longtime practical experience, particularly in the supply chains for fruit & vegetables as well as meat will be a valuable asset to the Board”, he said.

Siebenmorgen has been working for REWE Group since 1985, and is currently the Senior Manager for Sustainability. As a trained butcher, he studied Food Technology in Lemgo and began his professional career in 1981, working for renowned companies such as Unilever and Nestlé before joining REWE in 1985.

GLOBALG.A.P. elects its Board by secret ballot every four years. It consists of an equal number of retail and supplier representatives, reflecting the intimate supply chain partnership. Working very closely with the operational GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat in Cologne, the Board’s tasks include providing input to the GLOBALG.A.P. executive management and approving its key activities, as well as taking the final decision on adopting standards, revisions and new modules.
