Asda and Fareshare help tackle food poverty through new agreement with manufacturers

Asda today (Sunday 7th December) announced that it is extending its award-winning* food redistribution initiative to target food waste created by UK food manufacturers. The charity FareShare hopes that this commitment from Asda will result in the diversion of extra 2600 tonnes of surplus fresh food that would otherwise become waste from Asda supply chain, which Fareshare believe could create six million more meals for people who seek the support of charities across the UK
