Lovers of fine food will have an opportunity to taste some exciting new Pacific produce at the first Pacific Islands Trade & Invest (PT&I) booth located in the National Pavilion section (3 A 107) at SIAL 2014.

8 food and beverage producers and exporters from the Isles of Vanuatu, Tonga, Niue, Papua New Guinea and Fiji will showcase their products which include a wide range of vanilla and coffee products, craft beer, Sea grapes, artisan chocolate and the award-winning “Taste of India” range of simmer sauces, pastes and heat and eat vegetarian meals.

As the international trade and investment promotion agency of the Fiji based Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, Pacific Islands Trade & Invest’s network of offices play an essential role in supporting and promoting Pacific businesses and the Pacific Islands vision for a better future and prosperity for Pacific Islands’ communities through increased trade and investment.

Globalisation can bring real economic opportunities for the Pacific Island economies. Providing new markets for exports and new possibilities for trade and investment means that global economic change can be a positive force for development in this region. In order to help the region harness and benefit from global economic change, PT&I is assisting to build new economic partnerships which strengthen the region economically and equip Pacific Island countries to thrive in a changing economic world.

The inaugural Pacific Islands Trade booth is an initiative of the PTI Geneva office and has been made possible by funding from the European Union via the Pacific Integration Technical Assistance Program (PITAP).

Pacific Islands Trade & Invest (PT&I) is the international trade and investment promotion agency of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, based in Fiji.

With offices in Auckland New Zealand, Sydney Australia, Tokyo Japan, Beijing China and Geneva Switzerland, PT&I is the only Pacific Islands agency entrusted by the Pacific Leaders to develop, grow and promote business in and with the Pacific region.
