Momentum continues to build for GO! Organic Festival

Momentum continues to build for GO! Organic Festival – the major new organic event for 2018, coming to Battersea Park, London, next year, on 8-9 September.

Organiser Diversified Communications UK, which has a growing portfolio of market-leading events in the organic sector, including Natural & Organic Products Europe, says it’s delighted with the industry-wide support GO! Organic Festival has received since its launch announcement.

Exhibition space is being snapped up, big name sponsors are getting on board, the inaugural speaker list is taking shape, and potential festival-GO!ers are already pre-registering their interest in attending.

Recently, Diversified also held its first Advisory Group meeting, with some of the key influencers in the organic industry who’ll be helping to inspire and develop the event’s much-anticipated content line-up.

The group met over lunch (at Riverford at The Duke of Cambridge, Islington, in London) to brainstorm strategies for event marketing and content ideas and to discuss how the GO! Organic Festival – which aims to be the biggest celebration of organic ever staged in the UK – can work alongside the industry’s other main marketing initiatives, including the Soil Association’s Organic September and the Organic Trade Board’s high profile ‘Feed Your Happy’ campaign.

Carsten Holm, MD of Diversified, says: “We have felt for some time that there is a real need for our industry to have an opportunity to have a consumer-facing marketing platform but we also felt that it has to be something really special to make it work.

“We are delighted to have such incredible support from across the industry, with key players really wanting to help to make this an amazing event; as was so evident during the lunch.  The timing for GO! Organic Festival is absolutely perfect and we are really looking forward to working with the Advisory Group, and the rest of the industry, to bring the GO! Organic Festival to life next September.”

The GO! Organic Festival Advisory Group includes Anna Rosier, Organic Trade Board; Karin Ashwell, Soil Association; Vicky Fraser, Pukka Herbs; Tracy Kane, Community Foods; Paul Twiddy, Rachel’s Organic; Simon Wright, OF+ Consulting; Hannah Shipton and Emma Healey, Abel & Cole; Jeff Martin and Cristina Dimetto, As Nature Intended; Simon Martin, Triodos Bank; and the core Diversified team.

“Community Foods is really excited about the launch of the first GO! Organic Festival.  There is such a buzz around the organic sector at the moment.  This is the perfect time for an event showcasing our fantastic burgeoning industry, while providing visitors with a brilliant day out for all the family,” says Tracy Kane, brands director at Community Foods.

“GO! Organic Festival brings a unique opportunity to share ‘all things organic’ with a wide group of people in a fun, festival setting,” agrees Clare McDermott, business development director at Soil Association Certification.  “We are hoping that many Soil Association licensed organic brands, both large and small, will be involved and help to showcase the amazing products and innovation in organic today.”

The Organic Trade Board has also committed their support, commenting: “We are delighted that Diversified are taking forward the GO! Organic Festival, which will help celebrate organic and bring it to a wider audience.  The Organic Trade Board aims to help raise awareness of organic and drive sales of organic food and drink and we think GO! Organic Festival will also really help to do that.  We look forward to playing our part and seeing it develop.”

According to the organisers, the event will tap into the increasing popularity for festivals, but with a campaigning spirit and a sense of purpose.  The festival will take place at the event space at Battersea Park and will include a large purpose-built indoor area, with over 100 exhibitors (ranging from health, lifestyle, beauty and food).  The large outdoor space area will provide lots of activities for the whole family, including a festival stage with bands and DJs, a fun fair, comedy, celebrities, an organic farm with animals, a beer tent (with organic craft beers, wine, and cider etc), farmer talks, cooking demonstrations from celebrity chefs, and seminars covering key areas in natural and organic lifestyles.

Over 15,000 visitors are expected to attend the event, which will benefit from a high-profile marketing campaign across the capital and further afield.  To register an interest in attending, please visit www.goorganicfestival.co.uk/tickets.html.
