Lidl will expanding further when they open a new supermarket in Somerset in the UK, in the town of Crewkern. The Mayor, Cllr Hilary Leamon will open the supermarket officially on the 18th of February, in the George Shopping Centre.

It has been revealed that a new logo is to be used on all pre-packaged organic produce sourced in the European Union from July onwards.

Over 130,000 people voted online to choose the new symbol from designs created by three finalists. The winner, Dusan Milenkovic, a student from Germany, created the leaf shape composed of the EU stars against a green background.

The symbol will be optional on imported goods, and may appear alongside private, regional or national symbols.

In Douglas on the Isle of Man a public enquiry is to be held over Tesco's plans to expand it's supermarket. Independent inspector, David Bushby will put together a report for the Council of Ministers, after hearing evidence from Tesco's and others, some who oppose the new plans.
