The apple sector will take centre stage at Interpoma 2010, the seventh edition of the biennial international trade fair dedicated to the apple, which will be held at the Fiera Bolzano convention centre in Alto Adige, Italy, from 4 to 6 November 2010. The event attracts the industry’s foremost
Interpoma aims to expand its international scope following the excellent results achieved during the 2008 edition, when foreign visitors accounted for 40% of the 11,653 turnout and official delegations attended from Germany, the United States, Israel, Japan and New Zealand. The 2010 edition of Interpoma will see the involvement of trade associations from all countries, to provide a broader and more informed view of the world apple industry.
As in previous editions, Interpoma 2010 will host top-level conferences and meetings tackling the most compelling issues concerning apple cultivation and marketing, in the presence of the most authoritative international experts. The agenda of the traditional conference “The Apple in the World” will include a meeting on apple cultivation, sales and marketing in Mediterranean countries, a congress focusing on pesticide residue and a session dealing with the industrial use of the apple as a raw material.
Another highlight of interest to prospective participants is a presentation by ISAFRUIT (European Fruit Research Institutes Network), revealing the findings of a European study on apple production, storage and consumption conducted by leading research institutes, which will help to gauge the pulse of the world apple industry.
