Medium-sized retail trade companies discovering IT as a key success factor
Free visit to the fair for members of the North Rhine-Westphalian (NRW) Retail Trade Associations
Today the selection of the right information technology in the retail trade has a considerable influence on processes, cost structures, customer loyalty and competitive advantages. For major trade companies an efficient, effective IT infrastructure has long since been one of the strategic success factors. But IT is also playing an increasingly important role as far as small and medium-sized companies are concerned: ever-shorter cycles in product range structuring, customers’ increasing requirements in terms of speed and service, partial cost-savings potential utilization as well as considerable work facilitation are only some of the reasons which make the application of modern and powerful IT systems also necessary for small and medium-sized enterprises.
EuroCIS, International Trade Fair for Communication, IT and Security Technology in the Retail Trade, from 27 February to 1 March 2007, is taking account of this development by declaring Wednesday, 28 February, “Medium-sized businesses day”. On this day the fair will be open until 20.00 hrs, and as a result, two hours longer than on the other two days in order to provide particularly business proprietors from the region with an additional possibility of obtaining information. At EuroCIS, in particular small and medium-sized retailers have the unique opportunity of obtaining a compact overview – from product security up to check-out receipt and label printers, from new counterfeit cash recognition devices up to check-out and weighing systems.
In addition, the EuroCIS Exhibitor Forum on 28 February, which is open to all trade fair visitors free of charge, will offer practical reports with practical ideas and tips for everyday business routine, especially tailored to the requirements of small and medium-sized enterprises. The featured themes include:
- Introduction of mySAP ERP in the fashionable small and medium-sized retail trade
- Check-out receipt data analysis in the small and medium-sized food retail trade
- Use of biometrics at the check-out – examples from the small and medium-sized sector
- Optimization of payment systems in the trade
- Cost-reduction potential in logistics
- Restructuring of the IT infrastructure based on the example of a medium-sized sports retail company
Medium-sized retailers from NRW can also benefit from the following special promotional activities: in cooperation with the North Rhine-Westphalian Retail Trade Associations, Messe Düsseldorf is offering all members a free visit to EuroCIS 2007 in Düsseldorf. Anyone who registers by 13 February per e-mail and includes the “Retail Trade NRW“ reference along with their complete address and membership number at var addr=decrypt('nbjmup fvspdjt_nfttf.evfttfmepsg:ef'); var addr_text=decrypt('fvspdjt_nfttf.evfttfmepsg:ef'); document.write(""); document.write(addr_text); document.write(""); eurocis@messe-duesseldorf.de will receive a free day ticket.
