80% of traditional retailers saw a decline in sales since the pandemic began last year

80% of traditional retailers saw a decline in sales since the pandemic began last year, yet the acceleration of online retail in 2020 has instigated a sharp increase (52%) in brands selling ‘direct-to-consumer’ (D2C).

Ciaran Bollard, the CEO at global eCommerce platform provider Kooomo explains why D2C is causing global disruption to the retail landscape: “There’s a lot to be said for brands owning everything from logistics to supply chain – D2C brands can maintain customer relationships by getting a first-hand insight into their data and then delivering relevant content to improve the customer experience.”

The proliferation of D2C will play a major role in increasing the longevity of a brand but it presents challenges around liability risks, precision analytics and optimising product information – in light of this I was wondering if you would be interested in a thought leadership byline from Ciaran, examining this increase of D2C and why it is the rising star of retail sector?

Alternatively, if you prefer, I can also arrange a briefing call at a time convenient for you to discuss how this will affect the global eCommerce/ retail sector. If you have any questions or you would like a byline from Ciaran, please feel free to get in touch.
